Improper Apothecary Candles
Improper Apothecary Co. candles are carefully curated and feature “man”-inspired scents with essential oils. Our soy candles are free of any palm oil or palm wax and include only sustainably sourced ingredients. These scents are rich and unique without being over the top or overly powerful.
Adriatic Fig: notes of fig, caramelized brown sugar, and musk. This candle is infused with natural essential oils, including Lemon.

Black Sea: Includes airy, balanced notes. The sweet yet salty oceanic accords combine with an undercurrent of amber and vanilla. Geographically bridging modern-day Europe and Asia, the Black Sea was known to ancient civilizations as the end of the known world. Today, its shadowy waters are even rumored to hide the lost city of Atlantis. Hints of its mystery and intrigue combine to inspire this scent’s seducing aroma.
This candle is infused with natural essential oils, including cardamom seed oil and clove leaf oil.

Saunter through an evergreen forest with an ax wielding lumberjack Cypress and Bayberry meets clean vetiver vibes. This salve has base notes of moss, fir, and eucalyptus. Middle notes of cypress and bayberry blend with rich undertones of citrus, musk, and earthiness. Packed with the power of Patchouli, mint, elemi, fir balsam, geranium, orange, patchouli, and vetiver essential oils that intensify the fresh foliage notes. This is a traditional masculine scent that had broad appeal due to the woodsy scents inspired by nature.
Gratuitous Grapefruit: A true-to-life blend of ripe, tangy grapefruit and mangosteen- an exotic fruit that is citrusy and sweet with a hint of peach. The grapefruit dominates the scent with its sharp and punchy citrus notes with the warmer and sweeter mangosteen coming through. This scent reaches balance while burning, when both fruits meld into a strong fragrance that has a citrus punch, a hint of peach, and a naturally derived sweetness.
